Help Us Build Autonomy
Please give to spurwink|ri's Annual Appeal to support renovations to One Spurwink Place in Cranston, RI. The renovation will transform the first floor of the building, which is currently used for storage, into our VocLinks "Daily Living and Social Skills Program" center. What is a Daily Living and Social Skills Program?
It is everything from teaching budgeting to preparing and cooking a simple meal, to banking, to doing laundry and other basic household chores, to traveling within the community. It is knowing how to buy a newspaper at the store or how to get on and off a bus. It also can be as simple as teaching who not to speak to or who to walk away from if a stranger approaches.
