Creating Customized Employment Opportunities
Employment Training / Job Placement Services / Supported Employment

It is a proven fact that individuals with developmental disabilities are thriving members of our community. They are our neighbors, parents, volunteers, and employees. Did you know that as employees, individuals with disabilities have the strongest attendance, longevity, and dependability ratings compared to the average worker?

When I first left high school, I wasn't sure about my future. I was living with my sister and grandmother after my mom passed away from cancer, and I knew I was coming to Spurwink for the day program. VocLinks made me feel comfortable right from the start. They gave me a job coach to help me out and after a while, I was hired at Panera Bread. My job coach, Angela, helped me get that job and I have been there for over four years now. It's nice to get that paycheck every two weeks!

VocLinks also wrote me a grant for me to get art supplies and take art classes at UCP (United Cerebral Palsy). Drawing and painting is something that I love to do and I just recently sold a painting at an art show for $200.00! VocLinks also teaches me how to be more independent with cooking classes and doing many things in the community. I love karate classes that we take every other Friday and the bowling league on Thursdays. Now, I have a full and busy week, and I am very happy how everything has worked out.
