Learning about Adam’s work ethic | Warwick Beacon

House Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi visited Wood Boat and Motor in Warwick last Thursday, as part of “Take Your Legislator to Work Day,” which was organized by the Community Provider Network of Rhode Island and Spurwink RI to highlight the role of direct support professionals (DSPs). Shekarchi met with Adam Chrabaszcz and his Direct Support Professional Paul Peckham to hear from Adam about how important Paul is to him. He talked with Debbie Wood, owner of Wood Boat and Motor, pictured here, who touted Adam’s dedication to his work. Also pictured is Paul with Mary Anne Maciel, director of employment-community services at VocLinks who talked about the importance of DSPs and how they have become increasingly difficult to hire.
