In early 2015 a small core of agencies serving children, youth and their families- with input from the Executive Office of Health and Human Services began to meet and reach out to their colleagues. Agreement on the need for a formal children's policy and practice organization grew and the Rhode Island Coalition for Children and Families (RICCF) was incorporated. In November, 2015, the first election of officers and executive committee members was held. The membership, led by Benedict F. Lessing, Jr. as Chair, is celebrating the completion of its first year.
